After earning FCS Freshman All-American honors at East Tennessee State in 2025, Cole Norred had a plethora of opportunities to make the jump to the FBS level.

Ultimately, he chose to further his career at Georgia Southern, just over three hours down the road from Norred’s hometown of Bremen. And while football was top of mind throughout his recruitment process, his faith in the lord was perhaps the driving factor behind his decision to sign with the Eagles.

“I wanted to find somewhere that would help me develop spiritually just as much as anything else,” Norred said. “When talking with Coach (Clay) Helton, I could tell he took his faith serious. I also met with Josh Dallas and (David) Dallas on the visit and it was evident that they are passionate about their faith.”

Norred has served primarily as a center during his time with the Buccaneers, however he is taking on the challenge of learning each and every position along the offensive line ahead of the 2026 season.

“I believe that I am being brought in to play center,” Norred said. “I am preparing and learning all five positions to help the team wherever I am needed.”

After playing the entirety of his true freshman season, Norred will have three seasons of eligibility remaining. He promises to give Eagle Nation nothing less than his all while he is in Statesboro.
