While the class of 2030 has yet to even take their first credit hour in high school, Georgia Southern has already begun their recruitment of a select few rising freshman.

On Wednesday, The Villages Charter School (FL) wide receiver Magic Kennedy became the first athlete in the class of 2030 to announce that he received an offer from Georgia Southern.

“This is a very special moment in my life,” Kennedy said of receiving his first offer from an FBS program. “I’ve always dreamed of playing Division I football and to receive an offer going into my freshman year has been a blessing.”

As a member of the Tre Man Jags 13U squad in 2025, the 5-foot-7, 135-pound wideout totaled 68 receptions for an eye-popping 1,672 yards and 19 touchdowns. His performance helped propel the Jags to an appearance in the 2025 Youth National Championship.

Kennedy received the offer immediately after working out in front Eagles’ offensive coordinator Ryan Aplin, who was reportedly impressed with the youngster’s route running ability. Aplin previously extended an offer to Kennedy’s brother — Que Kennedy — a wide receiver who ultimately committed to UNC Pembroke and has quickly become a star for the Braves.

“Out of all the coaches who recruited my brother, he felt the most comfortable with (Coach Aplin),” Kennedy said. “Hopefully Coach (Aplin) and I can build a relationship.”

While the Eagles’ offer marks his first from an FBS program, UNC Pembroke was the first program to extend an offer to the rising freshman. While it remains extremely early in his recruitment, the talented wideout views the Eagles in a high regard.

“(Georgia) Southern is at the top of my board,” Kennedy said. “I would love to visit the school.”
