Following the closure of the transfer portal, the Georgia Southern coaching staff has shifted their focus back to the high school level to round out the class of 2026 and look forward to the class of 2027.
A number of coaches on staff made their way to high schools across the Peach State to scout out the best talent the state has to offer. This article will take a look at what schools confirmed a visit from Georgia Southern and what relevant players call each school home.
Bremen High School
Outside linebackers coach Andrew Neupert spent his day just outside the Atlanta area, which included a stop at Bremen High School. While it does not appear the Eagles were meeting with one specific player, it is important to note that the Blue Devils are led by head coach Davis Russell — the grandson of Erk Russell.
Brentwood School
New defensive line coach Kevon Beckwith made his way to Central Georgia, with one of his stops being the Brentwood School. The main player of note here is 2028 running back Tristan Robinson, who already holds offers from Georgia Southern and South Florida. He accounted for more than 1,300 total yards and 28 touchdowns as a sophomore.
Creekview High School
It is unclear what coach made their way to Creekview, bur the school confirmed a visit from Georgia Southern in a social media post. There appears to be no athletes with a Division I offer, but there are a number of potential targets in play here.
Dublin High School
2028 linebacker William Harris confirmed that he met with Beckwith in a social media post on Friday. He holds one Division I offer from East Carolina.
East Hall High School
There are no East Hall athletes that hold an offer from the Eagles at this moment, but Witte popped in fo a visit on Friday afternoon.
East Paulding High School
While he was in the area Neupert made his way to East Paulding, where he visited with a pair of talented defenders. Linebacker Treveon Lewis and defensive end Mason Wright — members of the class of 2027 — both confirmed that they net with Neupert on Thursday. The Eagles have yet to offer either player, but both hold at least one Division I offer.
Harlem High School
Harlem provides the Eagles with offensive lineman Liam Thompson this offseason, so Willis made his way back for another visit. No Bulldogs yet hold an offer from Georgia Southern.
Harrison High School
New outside linebackers coach Andrew Neupert made his way to Harrison to visit one of the most storied programs in the state on Friday. The Hoyas are home to a handful of athletes with Division I offers.
Hiram High School
There appears to be no football players at Hiram that currently hold an offer from Georgia Southern, but the Eagles were one of five colleges to pay the Hornets a visit on Friday.
Howard High School
Georgia Southern was one of roughly 20 Division I programs to drop by Howard over the past two week. A number of athletes in both the class of 2027 ans 2028 hold Division I offers.
Jenkins High School
Offensive line coach Zach Lankford made the short drive to Savannah on Thursday. While no Warrior holds an offer from the Eagles, there were a plethora of players who received Division I offers in the last week.
Johnson High School
While no athletes at Johnson currently hold an offer from Georgia Southern, Lankford made the short drive to Savannah to pay a visit to the program.
Lumpkin County High School
Again, it appears that no athletes at Lumpkin County have received an offer from Georgia Southern. However, new linebackers coach Jack Witte sat down with a large group of players on his visit to the program.
Miller County High School
Tight ends coach Taylor Reed made his way to Southwest Georgia on Thursday morning to extend an offer to 2027 linebacker Jamarion Shephard. He now boasts 12 Division I offers, including one from Boston College.
North Hall High School
Witte also made his way to North Hall, seemingly to visit with star quarterback Alex Schlieman. The talented gunslinger is a member of the class of 2027 and has made at least one previous visit to Statesboro.
River Ridge High School
It appears the new linebackers coach Jack Witte extended an offer to 2027 defensive back Andrew Rowe, marking the first Division I offer for the 6-foot-1, 185-pound defender. He will almost certainly be a name to monitor as the staff begins to build their 2027 recruiting big board.
Seminole County High School
It again appears that no athletes at Seminole County hold an offer from the Eagles, but tight ends coach Taylor Reed connected with a number of coaches and players on his visit.
Thomas County Central
While tight ends coach Taylor Reed’s post has since been deleted, TCC confirmed a visit from Georgia Southern in a separate social media post. The defending state champions boast a roster that consists of multiple players holding an offer from the Eagles.
Thomson High School
Inside receivers coach Damion Willis made his way to Thomson to check out a number of athletes, none of which appear to hold an offer from Georgia Southern at this point in time. With many hold other Division I offers, it would not be shocking to see the Eagles extend an offer to one of them in the near future.
Twiggs County High School
Beckwith also made his way to Twiggs County to visit with 2029 athlete Jeremy Stanley. While he plays both quarterback and safety, it is currently unclear what position the Eagles are recruiting him at. He does not yet hold any offers, but appears to be a name to monitor moving forward.
West Laurens High School
While he was in the area, Beckwith also made his way to West Laurens — a program the provided the Eagles with two signees in the class of 2026. It appears that 2027 offensive tackle Jonathan Toney was the player of interest this time around, as he posted a meeting with Beckwith. He holds four Division I offers, not yet including Georgia Southern.
Westside High School
Inside receivers coach Damion Willis made the short drive to Augusta to visit with a number of talented athletes at Westside. It appears that Willis met with a group of players that includes 2026 athlete Joshua Crawford, 2027 athlete Taveras Gresham, 2028 wide receiver Elliot Jackson and 2028 offensive tackle Omari Walker.
