Despite landing a pair of quarterbacks in the class of 2025, the Georgia Southern football program is determined to land another in the class of 2026.

The Eagles extended an offer to Beachside (FL) quarterback Edward Jordan in late June, marking him the ninth signal caller in the class of 2026 to receive an offer from Georgia Southern.

After a dominant performance at the Eagles’ annual 7-on-7 clinic last month, Jordan was quickly approached by Georgia Southern offensive coordinator Ryan Aplin. It was then that the 6-foot, 180-pound gunslinger received an offer from the program.

“The 7-on-7 tournament was great,” Jordan said. “We came together as a team and operated very efficiently, winning the tournament. The conversation with (Ryan) Aplin was great. He had watched me throw in the spring and he told me that my performance in the tournament really solidified his faith in me being a possible future quarterback at Georgia Southern.”

The energy of Aplin — who is in his first year as offensive coordinator for the Eagles — seemingly rubbed off on Jordan, who raved about the coach throughout his interview with GATA Central.

“Coach (Ryan) Aplin’s passion for football really intrigued me,” Jordan said. “The effort he puts into the program is second to none and the approach he has to teaching his quarterbacks us very high-level. His message to me as a player was that I have a very high ceiling and that he has a clear plan for how he wants to utilize my skills to help me grow.”

Jordan is the teammate of current Georgia Southern commit Nigel Eldridge Jr., a defensive end and running back in the class of 2025. Their tight-knit relationship is an intriguing factor for Jordan.

“Having a teammate already committed to the program definitely adds to my interest,” Jordan said. “It would be incredible to continue playing with someone I already have a strong connection with on the field. We would keep pushing each other to achieve greatness, just like we do now.”

While in town for the tournament, Jordan and his teammates were granted access to Georgia Southern facilities, players and coaches, all of which continued to pique his interest in the program.

“The campus is beautiful and the facilities are top-notch,” Jordan said. “I had the chance to meet the coaching staff and some of the players and they were all very welcoming. The visit really helped me see what life would be like as a student-athlete there and it definitely strengthened my interest in the program.”

As a member of the class of 2026, Jordan likely has two years of high school football remaining and is in no rush to end his recruitment. However, Jordan noted that Georgia Southern is “high on my list” following a successful camp outing in Statesboro.

Love this site DJ! I think I speak on behalf of a lot of Georgia Southern guys who have been wanting to see more recruiting news, so I for one really appreciate it! Your only error in the article above about Jordan is the last couple of sentences. He is approaching his Junior season, if he is class of 2026. Therefore he only has two years left, not three. Otherwise, great piece!
