As the 2025 recruiting cycle quickly near its end this winter, the Georgia Southern football program is ramping up their pursuit of a number of in-state prospects.
Cambridge (GA) defensive end Jordan Johnson holds just three Division I offers, with Georgia Southern most recently joining the club last month.
“It means a lot because I know how hard I work,” Johnson said in regards to the influx of offers. “To start being recognized and rewarded for that is amazing. It’s just a blessing from God.”
An offer from the Eagles stood out to Johnson as it opened the door for him to pursue a lifelong dream at an in-state program. While the 6-foot-3, 250-pound defender has yet visit Statesboro, he will take an official visit later this month alongside a number of other recruits.
Johnson has remained in constant contact with the Eagles’ coaching staff since the program extended an offer. As a result, the relationship has quickly become a valuable one.
“(Rip Rowan) has told me I’m the No. 1 defensive end that could come in for them,” Johnson said. “(Georgia Southern) is definitely up there with the top schools I’m interested in. I look forward to being on campus.”
