Just a week ago, Hapeville Charter Career Academy (GA) offensive lineman Chris Booker held just one scholarship offer. But since then, eight more Division I programs have begun their pursuit of the 6-foot-4, 270-pound lineman.
"It means a lot," Booker said of his recent influx of offers. "It always seemed unfathomable, but now it's my reality."
Just hours after in-state rival Georgia State and a number of Power Four programs extended an offer to Booker, Georgia Southern joined in with a scholarship offer of their own.
"Georgia Southern has a really great environment," Booker said. "It isn't something you'd expect if you haven't heard much about the school, but it's really cool to me."
While some Power Four programs have already pinned Booker as a priority target, Georgia Southern has remained one of his top programs. He and his family are working to pin down a visit to Statesboro sometime in the near future.
"Georgia Southern isn't getting overlooked," Booker said. "I am most definitely considering this school."
