Georgia Southern has extended over 100 offers to members of the class of 2026, with a vast majority of those offers going out during the month of January. Sequoyah (GA) offensive lineman Alexander Brewer was one of the many players to receive an offer from the Eagles last month.

“It is awesome to see how my hard work has paid off,” Brewer said. “It just motivates me to work even harder.”

After earning first-team All-State honors for the Chiefs last season, more than a dozen schools have begun their pursuit of Brewer. However, the Eagles may have a leg up on other programs as Statesboro is a mere four-hour drive from Canton.

“(Georgia) Southern is pretty high because of the proximity to home,” Brewer said. “I feel like I can come in and — through hard work — contribute early.”

The 6-foot-5, 295-pound lineman made two visits to Statesboro last fall, both of which seem to have left a lasting impression on Brewer and his family. While a third visit has yet to be hammered down, Brewer is eyeing a return sometime during spring practice.

“I love how close the team is,” Brewer said. “The coaches are great people and it’s really a family feel.”
