Over the past week, the Georgia Southern coaching staff has sent out dozens of offers to athletes in the class of 2026.

Buford (GA) linebacker Deion Miller was among the first of a long list of athletes to receive an offer from the Eagles last week, upping his total to nine offers from Division I programs.

"Seeing my hard work turn into Division I offers is like a dream come true," Miller said. "I have always dreamed of playing college football since I was a kid and to see it all come back and manifest is amazing."

The 6-foot, 220-pound linebacker holds a pair of Power Four offers from Baylor and Duke, but also boasts offers from three programs within the state of Georgia. Along with the program's history of success, the proximity to home is a critical factor in Miller's recruitment.

"I like how Georgia Southern is in-state," Miller said. "I also like the history of players that have played there."

His productiveness on the field is evident on film, which was also communicated to him by the Eagles' staff. According to Miller, the staff has raved over his play and even gone as far as to compare him to a current Georgia Southern defender.

"The coaches love my film," Miller said. " They always talk about how much I remind them of (a current player) and they always talk about what Georgia Southern has to offer." While Miller has yet to make his way to Statesboro yet, he and his family are in the process of planning a trip to campus sometime this Spring.
