As the college football season is wrapping up, things are picking back up on the recruiting trail.

Fleming Island (FL) offensive lineman Corbett Yarbrough has been on Georgia Southern’s radar for nearly two years now, as the Eagles extended the talented lineman his first offer in February of 2024.

“They’re definitely in the mix,” Yarbrough said of the Eagles. “I talk to Coach (Ryan) Aplin over the phone or by text every week or so.”

While his versatility along the offensive line has stood out to the Eagles’ coaching staff, the proximity to home is among the most attractive aspects of the program in the eyes of the Mandarin (FL) native.

“I do like how close to home it is,” Yarbrough said. “A three hour ride down the road is close enough for my parents and family to be able to make it to most of the games.”

Arkansas State and Georgia Southern were the first two FBS programs to extend an offer to the 6-foot-6, 280-pound interior lineman, but Army is the most recent program to join in on the pursuit of Yarbrough. Their offer gives him three FBS offers, which has kept Georgia Southern near the top of his list.

While he has yet to set a commitment date, Yarbrough said he is taking his recruitment one day at a time. No matter where he decides to further his athletic career, it appears the youngster will officially put pen to paper in February.
