The moment a high school athlete receives their first Power Five offer is something they will remember forever.

2026 Gulf Shores (AL) linebacker JaMichael Garrett holds four total offers, but added two Power Five programs to his list last month. Within the span of three days, the sophomore defender added offenrs from Auburn and Ole Miss.

"It means a lot," Garrett said of the offers. "My hard work is starting to show more and more."

While a visit to Ole Miss ultimately fell through, the 6-foot-2, 205-pound backer was in attendance for Auburn's game against the Rebels in late October.

"The visit was great," Garrett said. "I love Auburn and they are definitely at the top of my list."

Garrett has been in contact with a number of other SEC programs and with two full seasons of high school football remaining, he will undoubtedly add a litany of offers from high-level programs.

"There are a lot of different schools showing interest," Garrett said. "I'm willing to get any offers."

In a previous interview with Prep Ballers, Garrett mentioned that an offer from Alabama would 'shut down' his recruitment. In addition to the Crimson Tide, he has been in contact with fellow SEC programs such as LSU and Mississippi State.
