As the 2024 recruiting cycle begins to wind down ahead of football season, a slew of highly ranked players are beginning to slim down their recruitment.

So, here is a quick look at the highest rated uncommitted recruit at each position in the class of 2024, according to the Top247 rankings.

Quarterback: Basha (AZ) four-star Demond Williams

Williams was a longtime Ole Miss commit before rescinding his pledge from the program in early July. Now, the Arizona native is trending towards the in-state Wildcats, who have already begun constructing a strong class. A commitment from the 5-foot-11, 180-pound signal caller would simply be a cherry on top for the Wildcats.

Running Back: Oak Ridge (TX) four-star Frankie Arthur

As the brother of former NFL superstar running back Adrian Peterson, Arthur has already begun to live up to the family name. However, rather than following in his brother's footsteps to a powerhouse program such as Oklahoma, the speedy 5-foot-10, 190-pound back is trending towards SMU, who would hold the highest ranked commitment of any Group of Five program if Arthur were to land in Dallas.

Wide Receiver: St. Louis University (MO) five-star Ryan Wingo

The Wingo family has already produced two highly-ranked recruits in their lineage, but the youngest of the bunch may posses the highest talent level. To go along with elite track speed, the 6-foot-2, 205-pound receiver is big enough to come down with necessary 50-50 balls. His unique skillset makes it clear why he is one of the best uncommitted recruits regardless of position.

Tight End: Pickerington Central (OH) four-star Tayvion Galloway

Galloway was committed to LSU until early last month, but the Bayou Bengals continue to lead in the pursuit of his final commitment. If the Tigers were to land him, Galloway would almost immediately have a chance to contribute to an already loaded offense.

Offensive Tackle: Mater Dei (CA) five-star Brandon Baker

A number of top offensive tackles remain uncommitted, but Baker is the lone five-star still available at the position. Oregon leads for the California native who has dominated some of the nation's toughest competition, but the in-state USC Trojans remain a name to monitor in the 6-foot-5, 285-pound lineman's recruitment.

Interior Offensive Lineman: Mater Dei (CA) four-star DeAndre Carter

Alongside the aforementioned Baker, Carter has also established himself as one of the best lineman in the class of 2024. The Trojans are a team to watch in this process as well, but this recruitment is as wide open as it gets. Michigan State and Texas have also cemented themselves as contenders for the 6-foot-4, 340-pound lineman.

Defensive Lineman: Lee's Summit North (MO) five-star Williams Nwaneri

Just over a year ago, Nwaneri was ranked outside the top-150 recruits by the majority of recruiting services. But a strong junior campaign has turned the 6-foot-5, 250-pound lineman into a consensus five-star. All signs point to the Missouri native becoming a Sooner in the near future, but he does have an official visit to Oregon schedule for September.

Linebacker: Hoover (AL) four-star Bradley Shaw

More than two dozen Division I programs have extended an offer to Shaw, but Alabama, Auburn and Notre Dame have cemented themselves as the clear-cut top three in his recruitment. At this point, it would be shocking if the 6-foot, 220-pound backer did not stay within state lines for his college career.

Cornerback: Connally (TX) five-star Kobe Black

Black's brother is a cornerback for Oklahoma State, but the youngest brother will almost surely not follow in his footsteps to Stillwater. Texas is the clear leader to keep the talented defensive back in state, but an official visit to Alabama in October remains on the schedule for the 6-foot-1, 190-pound defender.

Safety: Buford (GA) five-star KJ Bolden

Bolden is perhaps the most versatile player among the entire class of 2024, with a number of schools recruiting him as a wide receiver rather than his listed position of safety. However, the 6-foot, 185-pound safety projects as an elite safety at the next level, boasting a skillset similar to NFL superstar Minkah Fitzpatrick. His recruitment will not last much longer as a commitment date has been set for August 5.
