An offer from the Crimson Tide is something that every kid in the state of Alabama dreams of receiving.
2026 Oxford (AL) linebacker Jamichael Garrett, who was recently in Tuscaloosa for one of the program's annual summer camps, is no different.
"The visit was great," Garrett said. "I loved the campus and had an amazing time with the coaches. What stood the most was how my position coach took his time after the camp to show me some drills that can make me a better player."
The 6-foot-2, 200-pound defender's only Division I offers have come from fellow in-state programs in Troy and UAB, but an offer from the Tide would completely alter Garrett's recruitment.
"I feel like if Bama offered, it would shutdown my recruitment," Garrett said. "But I also feel as though my recruitment will skyrocket."
His relationship with the Tide has been built over time, with the program inviting him back to campus three times since the beginning of June. While the program has yet to extend him an offer, Garrett is content with what the is hearing from the program's coaching staff.
"Right now they are saying that they don’t really know if they will offer at inside or outside linebacker, because of my current size and because I’m only class of '26," Garrett said. "I'm just building relationships. That’s what I’ve been doing all summer and by doing that coach said he will be making it out to some of my games this season."
Garrett has not yet made plans for a return visit to Tuscaloosa as he shifts his focus completely to the Yellow Jackets' upcoming season.
