As a member of the class of 2026, Douglas County (GA) star wide receiver Aaron Gregory will not be making a commitment anytime soon, but more than a dozen Division I programs have already begun their pursuit of his services.
"It definitely has been a crazy but exciting process," Gregory said. "I would have to say UNC, Florida State and Alabama stood out the most only because of how hands on and cool the head coaches were. They personally talked to me and my family when they offered me, along with the position coaches as well."
Among his growing list, Gregory already holds scholarship offers from powerhouse programs such as Alabama and Georgia. While the 6-foot-2, 170-pound receiver is already extremely familiar with both programs, he is entering the recruiting process with a completely open mind.
"I know UGA and Bama are in my backyard, but I wouldn’t say they are the two to beat just yet," Gregory said. "I'm still weighing all my options and every program I’ve visited has something to offer me. Sophomore year is loading and I’m hoping to have my top 10-15 by January, but right now just taking it slow and building those relationships."
However, Florida State has emerged as perhaps the strongest early contender to land the Peach State native. Gregory was in Tallahassee for a visit as recently as March, which is when the Seminoles made their offer.
"Coach (Mike) Norvell had great energy and was very cool as well," Gregory said. "I didn’t even know he was going to offer, but his attitude and our conversation before the offer was great. He talked about his player’s attitude in the locker room and on the field."
After a busy summer full of visits and camp appearances, Gregory has nothing left on the schedule at the time of writing. With his sophomore season on the horizon, Gregory is hoping to make room in his schedule for a handful of gameday visits this fall.
