Last fall, the Thompson (AL) Warriors won their fourth consecutive 7A state championship. Leading the way was 2027 quarterback Trent Seaborn, who has yet to spend a day as a high school student.
"The best way to describe it all is just a feeling of God’s blessing and I feel so much gratitude to Him for bringing my family here and putting me in this place to learn and grow," Seaborn said. "My team is everything to me. They’re my brothers, my family. Coach Mark Freeman and the whole coaching staff are incredible. They push us so hard each and every day, on the field, in the weight room, in the classroom."
Despite his age, more than a dozen Division I programs already extending an offer to the 6-foot, 180-pound quarterback, including 10 Power Five programs.
"I am so humbled that college coaches have taken an interest in me and I’m so grateful to God for putting me with teammates and coaches that are helping me get better each week," Seaborn said. "The recruitment process has been fun and I would say that I’m learning a lot about how it works, what to look for with coaches and programs and what types of questions to ask. My coaches have given me the advice to really focus on relationships right now, since college coaches can change quite a bit in the next 4 years."
After starring for one of the biggest powerhouses in all of Alabama football, numerous in-state programs have begun their pursuit of the talented signal caller. However, Seaborn is not ruling out any program as he attempts to fully take in the recruitment process.
"Getting offered by Auburn and Alabama means so much and I’m enjoying getting to know their coaches more and more," Seaborn said. "My goal is to find the school that best fits me, regardless of where it is. I would love for that to be someplace close to home, but I’m really open to any place that is the right fit."
Seaborn and his family will be in Auburn for the program's annual Big Cat Weekend to close out the month of June, but no more visits are set in stone at the time of writing.
