The moment an athlete receives their first scholarship offer is something that many will remember forever.

2024 Greenville (SC) quarterback Zachary Pickelsimer recently received his first offer from Livingstone College, a Division II program located in North Carolina.

"After I finished up a great performance at Livingstone camp, Coach (Christian) Lemay came and talked to me about how well I was throwing the ball," Pickelsimer said. "He asked how many offers I had and I told him zero. Then he said 'Well, were going to offer you. I wish you could be playing with us now.' After he said that I couldn’t stop smiling and thanking him and the other coaches."

While the Blue Bears were quickly joined by Erskine College as the only programs to extend an offer to Pickelsimer, a number of Division I programs have expressed interest in the 6-foot, 195-pound signal caller.

"Some other colleges that are looking at me are The Citadel, Furman, East Carolina and Clemson," Pickelsimer said. "Basically, they just want to see how my upcoming senior season turns out."

While his recruitment is hitting the homestretch, Pickelsimer is completely shifting his focus towards the Red Raiders' upcoming season. He and his family currently have no set plans for future college visits at the time of writing.
