Every year, a select group of high school football programs are selected to play in a nationally televised game on ESPN.

Red Oak (TX) — led by 2024 quarterback Reggie Moody Jr. — took down rival Lake Belton (TX) in an overtime battle that took place on the world's biggest sports network.

"It was an amazing experience and one I will always remember," Moody said. "Coach Rob and the coaching staff did a great job keeping us disciplined and away from the hype."

The 5-foot-11, 180-pound signal caller took advantage of the big stage by accounting for 427 total yards and six touchdowns, highlighted by the game-winning touchdown pass in overtime.

"The game plan was to execute and get our playmakers the ball," Moody said. "I feel like the coaches prepared a great game plan. I think I executed it very well."

While Moody currently holds no offers, he is confident they are on the way.

"Right now we aren’t hearing much but we do expect some offers," Moody said.  "I work really hard this off season and really desire to play college ball."

The talented gunslinger and his family will be in attendance for Texas State's matchup against Jackson State, with more visits currently in the works.
