The first game on the travel schedule was a matchup between No. 1 Ware County and No. 1 Benedictine, taking home Game of the Week honors from the GHSA.

The contest, loaded with nearly 20 players that hold a college scholarship offer, lived up to the hype of an extremely back-and-forth game.

It did not take long for the action to start as 2024 running back and Morgan State commit Dae'Jeaun Dennis rammed in a short touchdown just a few minutes into the game.

Just a few minutes after the Dennis touchdown and just one play after a Jaden Jones interception, Gator quarterback Luke Hooks found 2024 wide receiver Quintin Orange Jr. for his first of two receiving touchdowns on the night.

However, it wasn't long before 2024 quarterback and Florida State commit Luke Kromenhoek showed why he is ranked as high as the No. 3 quarterback in his class.

The Cadets broke through with a flea flicker touchdown before Kromenhoek found receiver John Lilly to knot the game up at 14. A field goal to close out the half gave the Cadets a lead they would not relinquish.

The Cadets' lead grew to as large as 17 points, with a one-legged touchdown pass from Kromenhoek highlighting his team's offensive explosion. The 6-foot-4, 190-pound signal caller finished with three touchdowns to go along with just one interception.

The Gators' brought the game back to within one score following another touchdown catch from Orange and a field goal, but were unable to move the ball on a potential game-tying drive, allowing Benedictine to escape with a 31-24 victory.

Both teams will be back in action this week, as Benedictine hosts Hebron Christian Academy and Ware County travels to take on Bainbridge.
