What we missed: A five-star flip, four-star stays in-state and impactful decommit

Well, life happens and sometimes we miss things here at Prep Ballers.

But, here's an update of everything that's happened in the college football recruiting world in the last few hours.

• Auburn stayed hot on the recruiting trail as they flipped five-star wide receiver Perry Thompson from in-state rival Alabama. His commitment marks the second five-star flip of the week for the Tigers and moves their 2024 recruiting class inside the top-15.

• Just one day after decommitting from the in-state USC Trojans, four-star offensive tackle Manasse Itete committed to Florida State. The Seminoles now have the No. 6 overall recruiting class in 2024.

• Four-star offensive tackle Isaiah Garcia committed to Utah over Oregon, Stanford and USC. His commitment marks just the third four-star recruit for the Utes in 2024.

• 2025 four-star cornerback Jontae Gilbert decommitted from Ohio State. The 6-foot-1, 175-pound defender is a top-50 recruit in his class.

We'll be back on top of our stuff tomorrow, but figured a bulk update would be the best way to approach today's news.
